Getting Started With the Mungles Website Builder
What you will need
Software
You'll need only the latest version of a Web browser; ideally the latest version of two of the most popular Web browsers. Keep an eye on w3schools.com Web Statistics and Trends (new window). The Website you create and publish will be compatible with all modern browsers, but it is worth testing your pages in more than one browser before publishing.
The Design Tools have been tested in the latest versions of Firefox (v2 and later) and Internet Explorer (v7 and later). For designing you should ideally use the latest version of one of these browsers. You'll find Firefox to be quicker in some scenarios.
Fortunately, these Web browsers are free to download, quick to setup, and you can run more than one on your PC at the same time.
Computer Skills
You will need to know your way around a PC. You will also need to be familiar with the Internet, i.e. you will be able to use a Web browser.
This is not a 'click-click-finished' system; you will need to devote a bit more time than that. The purpose of the system is to allow you to create something unique, so there has to be a degree of complexity. If you want something unique you just need a bit of patience and the willingness to learn new software.
Artistic Flair
It will help! But if like most of us you don't have any, we'll give you some ideas to get you started.
The Design tools allow you to experiment with different color-schemes, layouts, content, etc, before publishing your pages.
A Domain Name
Your site will be hosted with us, but separately, in your own Web-space, so if you haven't already done so, you'll need to register a domain name.
Don't worry, domain name registration is not expensive.
You will NOT need a domain name to use the trial application.
What to do next
To create your Website using the Mungles Website Builder Tools you should follow the procedure outlined below. The procedure is the same initially for both Trial and Subscription options.
Trial
- Login to the Trial Site. Enter the user-name and password entered during registration.
- Create your site. Follow the intructions to create your temporary site. You will be given immediate access to the Control Panel.

Subscribe
You will be forwarded to the Subscription Options page.
- Enter your Domain name.
- Click the 'Subscribe' button. This will notify us of your requirements. Your subscription will not start immediately, as it will take a little while to set up your Website. You will be notified by email when your Website is ready.
- Login to your Website. When you receive notification that your domain is ready, follow the link in the email to go to your Login page. Enter the user-name and password entered during registration.
