You will need to know your way around a PC. You will also need to be familiar with the Internet, i.e. you will be able to use a Web browser. Ideally, you will have some creative imagination – to decide on a design and layout, and to create or acquire any images you want to use in your Website. You will also be prepared to learn the Mungles system – it is not a 'click–click–finish' system. To make the system flexible, we had to introduce a degree of complexity.
Some systems are advertised as "...so simple your grandma could use it..." or similar. What they are saying is that their system is very simple to use. Our system is not as simple as that to use, but that doesn't mean your grandma couldn't use it; she would just have to learn to use it, like you!
You'll need only the latest version of a Web browser, but ideally the latest version of the two most popular Web browsers. Keep an eye on w3schools.com Web Statistics and Trends. The Website you create and publish will be compatible with all modern browsers, but it is worth testing your pages in more than one browser before publishing.
The Design Tools have been tested in the latest versions of Firefox (v2 and later) and Internet Explorer (v7 and later). For designing you should ideally use the latest version of one of these browsers. You'll find Firefox to be quicker in some scenarios.
Fortunately, these Web browsers are free to download, quick to setup, and you can run more than one on your PC at the same time.
There are other such systems – some cheaper, some more expensive, and some of them very good. Most will offer a range of templates from which to choose, and the more templates there are to choose from, the greater the chance that yours will be unique (although most users will choose the most attractive designs).
The Mungles system employs a different approach, giving you complete control over your design and content. Yes, we offer templates, but you could still use our system if we didn't. A template is just a starting point on the way to creating your own unique design.
If you are a subscriber - as opposed to a trial user - your disk-space is unlimited. This allows you to create as many pages as you want, create as many blog posts as you want, upload as many photos as you want, and create as many database records as you need.
We reserve the right to limit disk-space and charge for additional disk-space in the future, but this will apply to future subscribers only; existing subscribers will not be affected.
All upgrades to existing features will be free of charge for the duration of your subscription.
Please see the question relating to new features below.
In most cases yes, but we reserve the right to make an additional charge for a new feature where we feel it is warranted. Any chargeable features will be optional, of course
Payment can be made manually by credit card or PayPal, either monthly or annually, or by credit card on a recurring basis. Annual and recurring payment will attract a discount of 10% and 5% respectively.
Recurring (automatic) and credit card payments are handled by our payment provider, WorldPay. The WorldPay payment system uses a combination of both established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of sensitive data and processes millions of payments every day, for every type of business.
Your financially sensitive data is NOT saved on our Mungles servers.
Yes. If paying manually, you just need to let us know and then stop making payments.
If paying on a recurring (automatic) basis, WorldPay will send you your account name and password when you start the subscription. You just need to login to your WorldPay account and cancel your subscription.
Mungles does not have access to your account with WorldPay.
We will never change it. It will only change if you decide to add additional, chargeable features.
We offer a free trial, which allows you to assess the system and decide whether it is suitable for your needs without obtaining a domain name. Therefore, we do not offer a free trial of the subscription service.
When you subscribe, we create a domain for you, populate it with the directory structure and design tools, set up FTP accounts, and set up a database. We do not charge a setup fee.
If you haven't already done so, you will need to register a domain name and then pay an annual registration fee.
Don't worry, domain name registration is not expensive - typically less than £10 / $15 per year approximately.
